James "Jim" Hewes brings a wide array of experiences to his sculpture. Obvious are his affinities for geometry, nature and engineering, but Jim also has a bigger vision for his work.

Background

Jim's background represents a marriage of art, engineering and construction. Having worked construction, owned an Art Gallery, Cast Bronze, and Sculpted for private collections and public display, the Talisman culminates a dream that began in 1971, when Jim first bought land in Potomac, Montana. The artist has also studied Ceramics, Glass, Sculpture and Arts & Crafts design.

Other Projects:

As a prolific producer over the past 35 years, Jim has a wide variety of ongoing art interests and projects. Garden fountains and ceramic sculptures, geometric models and architectural constructions all find a place in Jim's collected works. See the gallery for some examples.

Photo Gallery

Work on the Talisman is an ongoing affair: the sculpture is constantly changing with structural modifications and new perspectives provided by weather, light and season. Click here to see a gallery of the progress and Jim's many other artistic creations.
